Adhesive tape solutions for automotive interior gasket bonding

Avery Dennison offers tapes for use in automotive interior gasket bonding applications. Modern vehicle interiors feature a wide range of plastics. In many instances these gaskets are placed between the plastic components to ensure a tight fit, accommodate movement, absorb noise, and reduce buzz, squeak and rattle. Pressure-sensitive adhesives are used to adhere the gaskets to the plastics.

Avery Dennison pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes offer high performance bonding between the vehicle’s surfaces and the polyurethane foams typically used in the manufacturing of the gasket.

FBA 1118 GL

FBA 1118 GL is a 2.5 mil transfer tape with a low VOC modified acrylic adhesive. It bonds well to low surface energy materials and has excellent foam bonding properties. FBA 1118 GL is commonly used for general industrial foam bonding where low VOC properties are required.

FBD 8393

FBD 8393 is a 4.1 mil double coated polyester with a foam bonding acrylic adhesive on the laminating side and a high shear rubber adhesive on the mounting side. The tape offers foam bonding to a wide variety of foams to low surface energy materials.
