News release: Survey shows Americans embrace “peel and stick” DIY solutions
Survey commissioned by Avery Dennison Performance Tapes yields 92% of Gen Z and Millennials would use a peel-and-stick solution for home improvement
Avery Dennison engineers tapes for a wide range of marine applications. Bonding to surfaces such as fiberglass, aluminum and wood, these durable pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes can withstand years of use in challenging marine environments.
Our marine tape solutions are used across a broad range of applications, including:
Boat hull assembly and component bonding
Attachment of marine-grade panels, trims, and insulation
Fastening of marine exhaust insulation wraps and heat shields
Sealing electronics and control units to protect against water ingress
Mounting signage, hatches, and windows with double-sided, waterproof tape
Each solution is designed to replace or work in conjunction with mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives. Used alone, tapes offer a cleaner, lighter, and more efficient bonding alternative that streamline production and improve aesthetics.
Adhesive tapes offer marine vessel manufacturers significant advantages over other bonding methods.
Creating high-performance adhesive tapes for marine applications isn’t just about bonding materials together, it’s about engineering products that can endure long-term exposure to moisture, heat, and mechanical stress. Our R&D teams have addressed these challenges by developing:
Avery Dennison marine bonding tapes are compatible and able to adhere to a wide range of surfaces, including:
Aluminum, stainless steel, and painted metals
Composite and fiberglass materials
Marine-grade plastics and coated surfaces
Textiles, foams, and insulation materials
This broad compatibility ensures optimal performance for OEMs, designers and converters building everything from pleasure boats to commercial vessels.
Marine applications demand the highest level of performance and reliability. That’s why our tapes are developed and tested under rigorous quality control programs. Based on the application, products can be tested and validated for:
Water, salt spray and chemical resistance
Peel and shear strength on wet and dry surfaces
Long-term UV and thermal performance
Compliance with marine-grade bonding requirements
Whether you're building for open waters, high-speed performance, or extreme durability, we deliver adhesive tapes you can trust.
Our marine-grade adhesive tapes, including double sided foam and waterproof marine adhesive tape products are engineered to protect and perform. With Avery Dennison, you get a trusted collaborator committed to delivering solutions for your marine bonding challenge. Let’s work together to create what’s never been done, on the water and beyond.
FM 2316 is a 68 mil double-coated white polyethylene foam with a modified acrylic adhesive. It bonds well to low surface energy (LSE) materials and has the ability to fill gaps.
FM 2454 is a 35 mil, double-coated, black polyethylene foam with a moisture resistant acrylic adhesive. It bonds very well to glass and ceramic, including in moist environments.
FT F3328 LV is a 3 mil transfer tape with an acrylic adhesive designed to meet Low VOC requirements for interior applications. Resistant to UV light, heat, humidity and most solvents, It has a good balance, tack, peel and shear, bonding well to both low and high surface energy materials.
