Adhesive tape solutions for exterior gasket bonding

Avery Dennison offers tapes for use in automotive exterior gasket bonding applications. These components, bonded to the vehicle with pressure-sensitive adhesives, gasket and seal between the exterior and interior environments of the vehicle.

Pressure-sensitive adhesives for bonding exterior vehicle gaskets.

Avery Dennison pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes offer high performance bonding between the vehicle’s surfaces and the sponge rubber foams typically used in the manufacturing of the gasket.

  • Bond well to foams commonly used in exterior gaskets, including ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), nitrile vinyl, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and dense urethanes

  • Bond well to low surface energy (LSE) materials such as polypropylene and automotive paint coatings

  • High-performance acrylic adhesives withstand high temperatures and difficult automotive environments

  • Double-coated options include carriers that prevent stretching during application of die cut parts
