Glazing / Protection of glass

Windows and doors, due to the amount of glazing they contain, are some of the most fragile building components that need protecting during construction.

Pressure-sensitive glazing adhesives provide many benefits in the assembly and application of protective pads – these are an essential packaging material, used for protecting glass sheets, glass units and windscreens during transportation and storage. Usually cork or foam based, the pads can be applied to the glass using an adhesive solution that not only sticks, but also leaves no trace of ever being in contact with the product. This is where Avery Dennison’s self-adhesive glazing tape comes to the fore.

Products

FT 310 High quality differential tape

About the product
A double coated polyester tape with a general-purpose rubber adhesive on the laminating side and a low tack removable acrylic adhesive on the mounting side. The rubber side bonds to a variety of materials, including foams, while the acrylic side enables clean removability from most surfaces.

Key benefits

  • Provides strong initial adhesion to a wide variety of packaging substrates
  • Strong plastic carrier
  • Offers clean removability from most surfaces for up to one year

FT B1121 High quality differential tape

About the product
A double coated polyester with pure solvent acrylic/solvent rubber adhesive. This is designed for applications where a high tack but low adhesion is required to low surface energy (LSE) materials on the laminating side, and where a plasticizer resistant and repositionable adhesive layer is needed on the mounting side.

Key benefits

  • Mounting side – removable pure acrylic adhesive provides excellent resistance against plasticizers and repositionability when mounted
  • Laminating side – high tack to a wide variety of LSE substrates with medium adhesion, enabling repositionability
  • Suitable for high temperature bonding applications
