Underlayment


Avery Dennison Performance Tapes offers a full line of specially formulated pressure-sensitive tapes for self-adhesive underlayment flooring applications. Our range of tape solutions can be applied across a range of different materials, including PE foam, (recycled) PU foam, XPS foam, rubber, cork, and (recycled) felt, that also come in different forms (rolls, sheets, folded panels). Furthermore, these can be used in combination with a vapor barrier.

Underlayment adhesive types

Avery Dennison offers different types of underlayment adhesives. They are each designed to cater to specific needs in the realm of flooring installation. For high-performance needs, the FT 7352 double coated tape features a PET carrier with a unique UV acrylic adhesive. This makes it ideal for bonding polyurethane foam, polyester fibers, felts and fabrics. Its PET film enhances resistance and shear strength, while also potentially offering repositioning capabilities. This depends on the substrate.

The FT Y6663 high-performance scrim tape includes an innovative elastomeric adhesive. It is designed for bonding foamed rubbers and plastics. It adheres exceptionally well to medium and low surface energy materials, such as PP, PE, TPO, ABS, PVC, PS and painted metals.

For more specialized applications, the FT351 double coated tape provides removable capabilities. This differential adhesive tape combines solvent acrylic and solvent rubber. This tape ensures extreme adhesion to low surface energy materials on the laminating side. It also offers a plasticizer-resistant and repositionable adhesive layer on the mounting side.
