Tapes for flooring - alternative assembly

Innovations by Avery Dennison

Focusing on the future, Avery Dennison delivers innovations that reduce environmental impact and improve the overall degree of recyclability. With the use of durable materials we created an alternative to traditional carpet assembly where materials are irreversibly glued together. Safe, circular, and responsibly manufactured products benefit the circular economy and meet the needs of industrial markets, earning a Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certification.

Seperation and recycling

Our high-performance transfer tapes bond during assembly and allow temperature-related debonding during end-of-life recycling purposes. That way we avoid the dependency of recyclable materials. offering an alternative carpet assembly process. Thick synthetic rubber-based transfer tapes are used instead of materials that are melted together making them hard to separate materials. The pressure-sensitive adhesives in our transfer tape portfolio bond solely by surface contact and require no activation with water, solvent or heat, making them ideal for managing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) in various applications. The peel and stick installation offers removable options without need of specific skills and tool sets. Find out more and get the full white paper here:
