Sustainability goals: new release liners for pressure-sensitive tapes with recycled and unbleached fibers

At Avery Dennison Performance Tapes, sustainability is the driving force behind our innovations. It is embedded in everything we do. We are accelerating our environmental journey by introducing new, more sustainable release liners.

Enhancing product liners for a greener tomorrow

The transition to a climate-neutral society is both an urgent challenge and an opportunity. Avery Dennison is focused on high performance solutions for a broad range of applications, but delivering innovations that advance the circular economy is always top of mind. As a leader in our industries, we engage with our suppliers, customers and value chain partners to drive change that protects our climate and ecosystems. By collaborating with our customers and suppliers, we can deliver a more sustainable future.

We’re seeing a lot of movement in the market. It's not just governments and legislators that are seeking sustainable solutions. Due to increased awareness from both consumers and businesses, brand owners, end users and converters are all looking for solutions that prioritize sustainability, strengthen customer service and meet sustainability goals as well as recycling targets. At Avery Dennison, we take pride in an approach that is ahead of that curve. Which is why we’re already seeing an increased demand in our more sustainable liners. This new liner will reduce the environmental impact of all the products they are used in and will be suitable for the AD Circular program, just like the standard glassine liner.

PSA tape release liners

Pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes typically consist of the adhesive, carrier and release liner. Avery Dennison has a comprehensive range of release liners to match your specific requirements, including paper and film liners. Release liners play an important role in the overall performance of laminates. A quality liner ensures that tapes will be processed and converted properly while also minimizing operational costs. By using recycled and unbleached fibers, the production of our liners has taken a big step towards offering a more sustainable solution. They consist of 15 percent Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) content, 85 percent unbleached fibers and no added dyes. To keep making progress and stay on the cutting edge, we collaborate internally as well as with outside experts to deliver innovations that improve recyclability, enable reuse, reduce consumption of natural resources, and advance the circular economy, without compromising on performance.

Join us on this journey towards a greener future and let’s create a positive impact on the planet and promote a circular economy. Reach out to us for more information.
