Adhesive tape solutions for automotive buzz, squeak & rattle bonding

A modern vehicle interior incorporates a wide range of plastic components. As the vehicle moves, these components can come in contact with each other and create buzzing, squeaking and rattling noises. Avery Dennison offers a portfolio of tapes for use in this application that includes solutions that incorporate felts, flocks and ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) films paired to single-sided tapes. When strategically placed in the vehicle, these materials can absorb and mitigate buzz, squeak and rattle (BSR) noises.

Pressure-sensitive adhesives for mitigating vehicle BSR noises

Avery Dennison pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes are a quick and strong solution limiting noises within vehicle cabins.T he use of tapes to hinder BSR sounds offers key advantages.

  • Bond well to polypropylene and other low surface energy (LSE) plastics

  • Low volatile organic compound (VOC) and low-odor options

  • Single-coated options with flock, felt, or UHMW facestocks

  • Transfer tape options
